The second most sublime place in the world: The Zagori, Greece
A hidden mountain idyll is my choice for the most sublime place you can actually visit*.
There is a reference in Patrick Leigh Fermor’s book Mani to ‘the Kondaritiki-speaking lathmakers of the Zagorichoria’.
You can Google that phrase, but you won’t get very far. Leigh Fermor was a travel writer, but he might as well have been writing science fiction.
